Last weekend (17-18-05-25) saw the Castleconnell Sprint regatta held and host by Castleconnell Rowing Club in Co. Limerick. The event, which boasts fast racing over 700meters, had a large entry and fortunately the weather was on their side. The two day sprint series hosted junior rowers on Saturday, and Masters rowers on Sunday. Shannon Rowing Club, one of my clients for Cardio and Strength Pogramming, had a great day out. Here are some highlights of Shannon Rowing Club at Castleconnel Regatta.
Overall the club clocked up a mega 22 wins from J13 to Masters rowers and had the most wins of any club there on the day with Lee Rowing Club and Castleconnel tied for second with 19 wins each (not verified from results).

Up Next
Next up for Shannon RC will be Galway regatta who are celebrating their 140th regatta on the river Corrib, hosted by Galway Rowing Club. Interestingly, Shannon have entered a MJ18+ which locally is the highly covetted Anderson Trophy with a long standing rivalry between two local schools, the Bish and Jes rowing clubs. Its not uncommon for outside clubs to enter this race and scoop the Anderson out from under Bish and Jes, so it will make for an exciting semi and final draw. Watch this space!
